Sustainable Blacksburg presents their June Sustainable Blacksburg Lunch and Learn series with their program titled "Sustainable Siting of Solar Photovoltaics" on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the Blacksburg Library and online on Zoom.

Dr. Ron Meyers will provide an introduction to how solar photovoltaics work, and can be used by households, neighborhoods, and communities for clean energy. He especially works with communities when large-scale (over 1 Megawatt, or about 8 acres) solar PV projects are proposed. There are many not so sustainable practices going on in Virginia, and he can share strategies for communities to require best practices in facility design, operation, and decommissioning of these projects.
