The Radford Public Library presents Foraging Foray & Wild Food Sampling on Thursday, June 5, 2025.

Event Schedule:
• 6:00 PM: Meet at the Radford Public Library Community Room
• 6:00-6:45 PM: Guided Walk to and around Wildwood Park
• 6:45-7:15 PM: Presentation
• 7:15-8:00 PM: Sampling Foraged Food

Join us for a foraging foray and wild food sampling with Em Shawish. Learn what wild foods are currently growing and how to make the best use of the them in preparing a meal. Em Shawish is the creator of "For the Love of Foraging: A Seasonal Guide to Wild Food and Medicine of Southwest Virginia". Copies of her zine will be available for purchase.

We'll meet at the Radford Public Library community room at 6:00 PM and walk together to Wildwood.

If you'd rather not take a walk, you can hang out in the room for the program presentation and slideshow to begin around 6:45 PM, when the walking group returns, and there will be time for wild food sampling and Q&A after that

For ages 12 & up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes and gear depending on the weather. To reduce waste, please bring your own plate, cup & utensils.
