The Radford Noon Rotary will host a dedication of "A Tribute to Heroes" on the grounds of Glencoe Mansion on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2025.
The event will be the official start of “A Tribute to Heroes” display of American flags sponsored to honor heroes of all types from service members to first responders and to individuals who have made an impact on someone’s life.
The opening ceremony will include remarks from multiple members of the community including Virginia Delegate Jason Ballard, Radford Mayor David Horton, Radford VFW Commander Bob Hajny, and Pastor Morgan Whitfield of the Radford Presbyterian Church. The ceremony will also include bagpiper Jayna Sallis and an Honor Guard and 21-gun salute from Radford VFW Post 776.
The event is meant as a dedication ceremony that provides a way to honor heroes of all types, from service members to individuals who have made an impact on someone’s life. Flags will be on display on the Glencoe Mansion lawn from Memorial Day 2025 through September 11, 2025. Proceeds from flag sales and corporate/business sponsorships go to support the charities and projects of the Radford Noon Rotary Club. Flags are $50.00 each and can be purchased by contacting attheroes2025@gmail.com.
Admission is free.
