Downtown Blacksburg, Inc. presents the 2025 Free Family Film Festival Kickoff featuring the film "Bookworm" on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at The Lyric Theatre.
"Bookworm" is a 2024 New Zealand adventure, comedy & kids/family film starring Nell Fisher, Morgana O'Reilly and Millen Baird.
Movie Synopsis:
11-year-old Mildred's world is turned upside down when her estranged father, the washed-up magician Strawn Wise, comes to look after her and agrees to take her camping to find a mythological beast known as the Canterbury Panther.

Following the film check out The Little Bookworm (401 South Main Street, Unit 103, Blacksburg, VA), an enchanting children's bookstore in Downtown Blacksburg with a bookworm scavenger hunt, a storytime fantasy mural and 20% any purchase with your movie ticket. Free parking is available around back of building.
