Description:
The Radford Public Library presents a Radford Reads program titled "Hauntings: Indian Ghost Stories" with Suchitra Samanta on Monday, October 28, 2024.

Local author Dr. Suchitra Samanta will read "The Witch", a short story from her anthology of translations from Bengali. After the story, she will lead a discussion about a different cultural concept of a witch as an old, poor, and socially marginalized woman who is believed to do harm. Dr. Samanta is the author of several books including "Kali in Bengali Lives" and "Sanctuary Stories of Kolkata".

Admission is free and all are welcome.

The Radford Public Library is located at 30 West Main Street in Radford, VA.
