The Floyd Music School presents the duo Mark Schatz and Bryan McDowell in a house-style concert on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at the Floyd United Methodist Church Outdoor Pavilion.

Pack all of the roots and branches of contemporary string band music into one dynamic duo and you have Mark Schatz & Bryan McDowell. With finesse, kinetic synergy, and humor they deliver Fiddlin’ Arthur Smith, Bob Dylan, and everything in between.

Mark is the bassist for Bela Fleck and has been on more Grammy award winning projects then he can count. Bryan is quite simply the best kept secret in American folk music. The two are a powerful force.

Mark & Bryan’s new CD, Grit & Polish, went to #1 on the DJ Folk chart in June 2021. These two versatile multi-instrumentalists deliver a high energy show full of fiddle tunes, songs, clogging & hambone.

Fiddle and banjo blazing, guitar and mandolin crooning, Schatz & McDowell bust loose with a contemporary string band extravaganza.
