Description:
The Radford City Police Department presents their National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Bisset Park.
Join us for a fun and informative evening at National Night Out! This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with your neighbors, learn about crime prevention, and support a great cause. It's a night of community, safety, and support that you won't want to miss!
This year, we're excited to introduce a brand-new event: a Fire Truck Pull to benefit Harper's Fund, supporting the Owens Family. Our very own Lieutenant Coffey has bravely pledged to pull one of the Radford City Ladder Trucks, which weighs over 50,000 pounds, over a distance of 40 feet. Let's come together and cheer him on as he pulls for Harper!
Harper Owens, the 13 year old daughter of Dwayne and Amy Owens, was involved in a 4-wheeler accident. Harper sustained severe spinal cord damage along with a broken nose. Immediately following the accident she was airlifted to a hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee and then transferred via airlift to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee and has since been transported to Atlanta, Georgia to begin rehabilitation.
Members of the Radford City Sheriff's Office, where Harper's dad serves as a sergeant, will be on hand to accept donations at the event. It's a great opportunity to support a wonderful cause!
In addition to the fire truck pull, we'll have crime and fire prevention materials, neighborhood watch opportunities, and fun obstacle courses for the kiddos.
Interested in start a neighborhood watch in your neighborhood? There will be information to get your started.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
Bisset Park is located at 49 Berkley Williams Drive in Radford, VA.
