The Town of Floyd continues their 7th Annual Floyd Small Town Summer event series with Chatham County Line and Virginia Hollow in concert on Thursday, July 18, 2024 outside at Warren G. Lineberry Memorial Park.

Event Schedule:
• 6:00 PM: Gates Open
• 6:30 PM: Virginia Hollow
• 7:45 PM: Chatham County Line

Join us for an evening of Americana mixed with country, rock and roll and bluegrass when we welcome the incredible Chatham County Line to Floyd Small Town Summer. Opening act Virginia Hollow will add some great local music led by singer-songwriter Carrie Hinkley. Enjoy two great bands and all kinds of fun family activities in the Warren G Lineberry Park!

Chatham County Line is an all acoustic, suit-wearing, home-written, everybody sings bluegrass outfit formed at the turn of the century in Raleigh, NC.

Few acts evoke such a profound connection to the harmonic traditions of bluegrass. Chatham County Line live engagements include everything from the elegant European concert halls to the large American folk festivals at which the quartet has become a fixture. On stage, the musical relationships fostered by its consistent lineup are apparent, through an unspoken chemistry that allows the freedom for improvisational flashes that seem as polished as the rest of its set. Those moments keep performances fresh as the band’s best known songs become concert staples, despite a deep catalog that features dozens of stellar tunes.

Virginia Hollow is a mixture of Americana, bluegrass, country, indie and rock. A singer-songwriter band that performs songs written by lead singer Carrie Hinkley, along with an occasional handpicked cover or two.

Virginia Hollow is a band and a sound born from the hills, valleys and mountains of Appalachia. Their performances and music take you on a journey fraught with raw emotions and stories of love, trust, betrayal and longing. When all is said and done, the haunting melodies of Carrie Hinkley's soulful voice are hard to shake off and instead keep returning and replaying in one's mind, like an untamed mantra of beauty and tragedy. This is a band whose time has come and needs to be reckoned with.

The Town of Floyd offers this series of free events to provide a fun, family-friendly atmosphere in downtown Floyd, VA. Featuring music, movies, face-painting, inflatables, games, food and beverage and special activities presented by a variety of community organizations!

The Small Town Fall Festival Event Series is free and open to the public.

Bring your lawn chair and/or blanket.

Gates will be open and access provided to the public starting at 6:00 PM.
