Pulaski County presents a special July 4th Program with Living History, Unveiling of New Historical Exhibit and Veterans Remembrance Ceremony on Thursday, July 4, 2024 with most activities at the Old Stone Pulaski County Courthouse.
Event Schedule:
• 11:00 AM: Civil War Living History on Courthouse Lawn
• 12:00 PM: Unveiling of Three New Exhibits inside New River Room and Third Floor
• 1:00 PM: Salute to Our Veterans and Special Recognition for 160th Anniversary of Battle of Cloyd's Mountain at Pulaski Theatre
• ~2:00 PM: 21 Gun Salute and Playing of Taps on Courthouse Lawn
Start your 4th of July Celebration with Civil War Living History, the unveiling of three new historic exhibits, Salute to Our Veterans and concluding with 21 Gun Salute and Taps.
The Civil War Living History will be on the Old Stone Pulaski County Courthouse Lawn starting at 11:00 AM. The unveiling of the three new historical exhibits includes the Revolutionary War soldier Samuel Caddall's Journal inside the New River Room, the Civil War Battle of Cloyd's Mountain Civil War Diorama and the Sacrifices for Freedom military exhibit both on the third floor of the Old Stone Courthouse. Following the unveiling head to the Pulaski Theatre for the Annual Salute to Our Veterans and Members of the Armed Forces and special recognition for the 160th Anniversary of the Battle of Cloyd's Mountain which occurred on May 9, 1864. The program will conclude on the lawn of the courthouse with a 21 Gun Salute from VFW Post 1184 and playing of Taps.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
