Description:
Historic Smithfield presents their Annual Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

Schedule of Activities:
• 11:00 AM: A Reading of the Declaration of Independence followed by a Cannon and Musket Salute
• 1:00 PM: Planting a "Liberty Tree" by the Sons of the American Revolution followed by Cannon and Musket Salute
• 2:00 PM: Final Musket and Cannon Salute

Join us to Celebrate Our Nation’s Independence as it was done during the Revolutionary War at Smithfield. Listen to a dramatic reading of the Declaration of Independence by an 18th century crier accompanied by musket and artillery firing and the planting of a liberty tree, all as you would've seen during the Revolutionary War.

No charge to attend. Donations gratefully accepted.

Historic Smithfield is located at 1000 Smithfield Plantation Road in Blacksburg, VA.
