The Blacksburg Farmers Market presents a Public Living Room with New River Valley Time Bank and The Shelter Jam Band in concert along with the regular farmers market vendors on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Market Square Park.
Enjoy The Shelter Jam Band performing from 3:00-5:00 PM. The Shelter Jam Band is a gathering of musicians that plays every Friday at noon at the Shelter Alternatives office. The mix of music is best described as Americana, including a wide range of tunes that any one of the musicians might bring through the door.
NRV TimeBank is hosting a public living room to celebrate Give Local and our members who bring community connection to the community.
The NRV TimeBank has joined forces with a group out of the United Kingdom called Camerados. We all believe that "People are the Answer" to our problems. A camerado is someone between a stranger and a friend. And, Public Living Rooms are a space where people can be alongside each other, meet people they would not normally mix with and a place where it is okay "to be a bit rubbish" and no one will try to "fix" you. Join us at the Blacksburg Farmers Market to enjoy a cup of tea and a "biscuit" (that's a cookie here in the good ol' USA) and let's enjoy meeting new people!
The Blacksburg Farmers Market is open every Saturday April through October from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Market Square Park in downtown Blacksburg, VA. The Wednesday Market is open from April through December from 2:00-6:00 PM. From November-December, the Saturday hours change to 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. From January-March, the Saturday hours change to 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
Market Square Park is located at 100 Draper Road in Blacksburg, VA.
