16 Blocks Magazine presents "The Closing Show" on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Alexander Black House & Cultural Center.
Enjoy a mellow evening at the Alexander Black House celebrating the run of our "Cover Art Retrospective" exhibition and the opening of a new chapter with the relaunch of our independent local arts and culture magazine.
The show opened Steppin Out weekend and is a retrospective of 41 covers (2007-2012) and the revival of the magazine with Rita Brame’s original cover drawing “Draper Block” for issue #42.
DJs and MCs will be providing the chill beats, with Beats N the Streets musicians as well as local buskers.
Light food and refreshments will be provided.
Join us for a chill-good time spotlighting local arts and culture at the museum that once was the home of the founder of the 16 Blocks downtown grid and the town.
Cover prints of all the covers, including Rita’s "College and Main" drawing currently on the cover of Issue #43, will be for sale with the proceeds going to further the growth of the magazine in 2024.
The Alexander Black House & Cultural Center is located at 204 Draper Road in Blacksburg, VA.
