Description:
Jessie Peterman Library and Sustain Floyd presents an Author Talk with Diane Flynt on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
Join Sustain Floyd and the Library in welcoming Diane Flynt, author of "Wild, Tames, Lost, Revived: The Surprising Story of Apples in the South", as she shares with us the varied and fascinating history of a fruit that was once a major crop throughout the South.
Diane founded Foggy Ridge Cider in Dugspur, Virginia in 1997 after a corporate career in financial services and they produced many fine ciders for over a dozen years receiving much critical acclaim. She was nominated for a James Beard Award for Outstanding Beverage Professional four times, including a Finalist for this award in 2017 and 2018. Now Foggy Ridge Cider has become Foggy Ridge Orchards which supplies cider apples to cidermakers across the South.
The event is free, however space is limited so please RSVP.
