Blacksburg Wine Lab presents Lustau Sherry Tasting with Mario Munoz inside The Vault on Monday, September 18, 2023.

Join Caballero Portfolio Manager and Certified Sherry Wine Specialist, Mario Muñoz for an educational tasting with 5 Lustau Sherries.

Mario will share his in depth knowledge and passion for this unique (and delicious!) fortified wine. Blacksburg Wine Lab is excited to host a Certified Sherry Wine Specialist to guide a tasting of some of the best sherries in the world!

Along with your sherry sipping, Chef Bryan will be preparing three courses of pairing boards - a seafood board, a cheese & charcuterie board, and a dessert board.

Mario Muñoz González started in the wine business 7 years ago, when he was 21, at Lustau, Spain. He considers himself a wine, spirit and beer lover (specially a sherry lover). Mario has since then enhanced his knowledge by learning from the industry's top professionals while hosting winery trips and visits; interacting with Lustau Cellar Master and Master Distiller and their crew.

Working with the International and National Marketing Departments as liaison perfected valuable skills in various facets of event and promotional planning. He is originally from Jerez de la Frontera (Sherry Triangle), however, he now lives in Madrid that allows him to manage the intense travel schedule required as the US Portfolio Manager for the East Coast. Following his passion for Spanish wines and a desire to share his expertise on sherry he enthusiastically joined the International Department of Caballero Group. He currently is in charge of the brand image, marketing and trade education in the US.
