The Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center presents the 2nd Annual Game Changer Week Block Party featuring the music of the George Dorne Band on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
Join us for our second-annual Game Changer Week Block Party featuring live music from The George Dorne Band, bounce houses, a special kids booth filled with goodies hosted by mermaid Makenzlie, food and beverage trucks including Cabo Fish Taco, 800 Degrees Wood Fired Pizza, JH Bards, Spoons Shaved Ice, interactive exhibits highlighting the region's innovation & talent, a Yeti Cooler raffle, and more!
The George Dorne Band is based in West Virginia and specializes in performing country and southern rock.
The George Dorne Band was formed in 2018 and is comprised of five members, all from southern West Virginia. This team of exceptional musicians bring together various stage performances for over 20 years of professional experience delivering a diversity of genres from country, classic rock and blues, to create a unique sound with both cover songs and originals.

Game Changer Week (GCW) celebrates our innovative regional ecosystem where participants are inspired by encounters with disruptors from all industries, people of all ages with ideas, the curious looking to learn or invest, and the brightest talent among us. Participants – no matter the career or business stage – find their catalyst at networking events, thought leaders in action, and educational opportunities, and leave with real-world connections and new knowledge to be inspired. Events are held in Roanoke and Blacksburg, VA from September 5-8th.
