Description:
The Radford Public Library continues their Page to Screen Movies series with "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" on Saturday, September 2, 2023.
This classic 1962 psychological thriller stars two icons of the silver screen, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, as feuding sisters locked in a spiraling, toxic relationship as one of them loses touch with reality.
Baby Jane Hudson is a former child star of the vaudeville era, whose fame was so widespread that there was even a "Baby Jane" doll made in her likeness. Her older sister, Blanche, watched with envy as their father doted on Jane and spoiled her with toys and attention. Blanche is in a wheelchair, and Baby Jane is her unwilling servant, skulking around their downtrodden mansion in Vaudevillian make-up, school-girl ringlets, and doll-like attire.
