Live Work Eat Grow presents Preserve the Harvest Workshop and Potluck on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at The Millstone Kitchen at The Old School and Outdoor Pavilion.

Event Schedule:
• 2:00-4:00 PM: Harvest Workshop (tickets required)
• 4:30-6:00 PM: Preservation Potluck (open to the public)

Live Work Eat Grow very pleased to welcome April McGregor to Millstone for our Preserve the Harvest Workshop and Potluck. April is an award-winning food preserver, author, and community organizer. Participants will learn about different methods for preserving garden veggies and cutting down on food waste, and you get to make your own jar to take home! April is currently the lead fermenter at the People's Kitchen in Philadelphia. She also runs her own award-winning preserve business, which has been featured in the New York Times, Bon Apetit, Garden & Gun, Southern Living, and many more publications. Her book on sweet potatoes was published by UNC Press and she has another book out on canning. This is a rare opportunity and you don't want to miss it!

April will also be attending the Preservation Potluck along with another special guest, Danille Christensen form Virginia Tech, an expert on traditional and community foodways. This potluck format will be unique, we're asking people to bring things they've preserved from the garden. This could be chutneys, kraut, jams, pickles, kimchi, fruit leather, salsa whatever. Don't do any of that stuff? No problem, bring some crackers, bread, chips, or something else light to share!

The Preservation Potluck is free and open to the public and the Harvest Workshop is $15.00 per person.
