Description:
Science on Tap - New River Valley presents their June program titled "Ticks Of Southwestern Virginia" on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Rising Silo Farm Brewery.
Learn about the natural history and ecology of local ticks from Dr. Meg Steinweg of Roanoke College and Danielle Racke of Nature By Nurture as they share their research. We'll practice identifying ticks and we'll even have a tick race.
Admission is free and open to the public.
Science on Tap - New River Valley is a monthly event with science-inspired speakers, performers, and discussions. We support bringing science to our community and our community’s support to local research.
We kick off the event with games, comedy, or other fun things. Then, an invited guest researcher demos their research. And then we'll discuss, ask questions, learn together and mingle.
