Sustainable Blacksburg continues their Lunch and Learn series with the event titled "The Hidden Stories of Common Backyard Invaders" on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 offered both in-person at the Blacksburg Library or online on Zoom.
Invasive plants and animals might be pretty to look at, but they can wreak havoc on wildlife, ecosystems, and humans, sometimes in surprisingly ingenious and dastardly ways. Never fear! Dr. Emily Reed of the Virginia Tech Invasive Species Working Group will show us the "dirty dozen" of Blacksburg. Twelve invasive species that are common in our yards and the unexpected ways that they influence our community and our environment.
