Historic Smithfield presents their Spirit of America: 2023 Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, July 1, 2023.

Help us ring in Independence Day by spending the day at a house that saw the beginning of a new nation! Enjoy historic house tours, shop in our Museum Store, observe artillery displays by Giles Artillery, living history demos and blacksmith demonstrations in our onsite forge.

Gather for an Independence Day Ceremony featuring traditional excerpts from the Declaration of Independence and Frederick Douglass, followed by a rousing cannon fire salute and live music from the Old Pros Big Band Orchestra following the ceremony. Enjoy delicious food from Cabo Fish Taco and Community Pizza, cool down with yummy treats from Charlee's Tropical Italian Ice and Drinks and Sweet Surrender as well as entertainment from local vendors.

Admission to the site is $7.00 per person and kids under 5 are free.

Tickets can be purchased on site at the time of the event.

Historic Smithfield is located at 1000 Smithfield Plantation Road in Blacksburg, VA.
