The Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech presents Pink Martini in concert with singer China Forbes on Saturday, October 30, 2021.

Join Pink Martini as it ushers in Halloween with a musical trip around the world, from a samba parade in Rio to a French nightclub. Performing with singer China Forbes, the 12-member ensemble takes the Moss Arts Center stage for the first time.

Thomas Lauderdale founded the "little orchestra" Pink Martini in 1994 to provide beautiful and inclusive musical soundtracks for political fundraisers for causes such as civil rights, affordable housing, the environment, libraries, public broadcasting, education, and parks. Drawing inspiration from music from all over the world, crossing genres of classical, jazz and old-fashioned pop, and hoping to appeal to conservatives and liberals alike. A year later he asked his former Harvard classmate Forbes to join the ensemble. They began to write songs together, and their first song, "Sympathique (Je ne veux pas travailler)", became an overnight sensation in France.

Pink Martini has performed its multilingual repertoire on concert stages and with symphony orchestras throughout Europe, Asia, Greece, Turkey, the Middle East, Northern Africa, Australia, New Zealand, South America, and North America. The ensemble has released 11 studio albums, selling over 3 million albums worldwide.

Tickets range from $40.00-$75.00 depending on seat location and $10.00 for students with ID and youth 18 and under.

Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Moss Arts Center Box Office Wednesday-Friday from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm and by phone at 540-231-5300.

Parking is available in the North End Parking Garage on Turner Street for $5.00. Payment must be made in cash at the time of entry.

In accordance with current Virginia Tech university policy for indoor events, all faculty, staff, students, and visitors to the Moss Arts Center are required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
