Runabout Sports presents the 36th Annual Blacksburg Classic 10 Miler and 5k on Saturday, May 22, 2021 starting and ending on Kraft Drive at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center in Blacksburg, VA.

Race Schedule:
• 6:45-7:50 AM: Race Day Packet Pick-Up
• 8:00 AM: 10 Mile & 5k Start
• 8:30 AM: Free One Mile Fun Run

Update: The race start times have been moved up from 9:00 AM to 8:00 AM.

Running and walking is so good for your heart! Join us for the first race of the 2021 RunAbout Race Series. It is the 36th year of the Blacksburg Classic 10 Miler and 5K! The 10 miler and 5K races begin at 8:00 am. A free one-mile fun run will also take place at 8:30 AM, fun for the whole family!

The race is open to only the first 200 5K participants and 200 Ten Mile participants.

All runners and spectators are required to wear a mask. Once the runners / walkers cross the start line, you may take your mask off. When you cross the finish line, prior to leaving the finish line area where packaged snacks, bottle water are, please put your mask on. We will disqualify runners for violating the mask policy.

Race shirts will be available to 10 Mile and 5k participants while they last. All 10 Milers will receive a finishers medal.

Registration can be made online, by mail or in person at Runabout Sports located at 1470 South Main Street, Suite #100 in Blacksburg, VA within the First & Main Shopping Center.

Wrapped snacks and bottle water will be available to take with you after the race. Runners are asked to vacate the area and not gather in groups. You may cooldown and then we ask that you leave. No congregating.

There will be three aid stations on the course that the runners in the 10 miler go by for a total of six visits. The 5K will have two aid stations.

Awards will be given out for the overall top three male and female finishers and by age groups. Runners are eligible for one award which will be determined in the following order of priority: overall, masters, grand masters, age group.

There are plenty of parking spots located at the VT CRC. The start and finish line will be near the Virginia Tech Airport off of Kraft Drive. Kraft to Pratt by the airport will be closed off to parking.

Packet Pick-Up will also be available before the race on Friday, May 21st at RunAbout Sports in Blacksburg from 3:00-7:00 PM.
