Give Local NRV presents a special Trivia Night on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Iron Tree Brewing Company in Christiansburg, VA. Join us for a night of trivia, laughter, and great company while supporting our Give Local NRV campaigns for four local non-profits including NRV Cares, Downtown Christiansburg Inc., Inmate Family Assistance of the NRV and Literacy Volunteers of the New River Valley. This is a wonderful opportunity to support four outstanding organizations making a positive impact right here in the New River Valley. It's free to play. Delicious food and drinks will be available for purchase. NRV CARES is an organization in the New River Valley that provides child advocacy, resources, education and services. Our program areas include CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Parent Education including Parenting Young Children Courses, Circle of Parents Support Group, Parenting Through Separation and Divorce Seminars, and Parenting workshops and Community Education programs ("Hugs and Kisses" plays, Stewards of Children trainings, the Pinwheels for Prevention campaign to increase awareness of child abuse/neglect, events for the community concerning child welfare issues, and many more). NRV CARES’ mission is to strengthen families and protect children with a vision of our NRV free of child abuse. We provide tutoring in both basic literacy (reading and writing) and English as a second language (conversational and basic English skills) to adults in the New River Valley. We also promote public awareness, cooperative partnerships, information sharing and referrals between literacy programs and communities.
