Historic Smithfield presents a Historic Concert from the Blacksburg Community Band on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the Pavilion. Join the Blacksburg Community Band for an outdoor concert featuring patriotic favorites, marches, band favorites and Americana classics live. The Blacksburg Community Band, Inc. is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization formed in 1989 under the auspices of the Department of Parks and Recreation in the Town of Blacksburg, Virginia. The band has musicians from all corners of the New River Valley and surrounding areas with diverse experiences and backgrounds. They play a wide variety of concert band music including marches, show tunes, light symphonic music, popular tunes, old favorites, and novelty music. The band performs an average of 20 concerts each year throughout the New River Valley. The band was incorporated in Virginia as a non-profit corporation in 2007. Donations to support the band are gratefully accepted. Chairs will be set up in the Pavilion. Bring your own lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic gear.
