Description: Science on Tap of New River Valley presents their April program titled "What the Satellites See: Observing Rivers from Space" on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Rising Silo Farm Brewery.

Virginia Tech geosciences graduate student Emily Ellis will discuss how we can use satellites to view rivers from space. Emily will show attendees how satellite imagery can help answer questions about river temperatures, explain how they change over time, and allow participants to try spatial analysis themselves.

This event is free and open to the public.

The event is hosted by Virginia Tech's Center for Communicating Science and the Virginia Tech chapter of Sigma Xi.
