The Blacksburg Ballet's annual production of "The Nutcracker" is a holiday tradition with a local twist! Audience members are transported to a magical world of toy soldiers and dancing snowflakes as they follow Clara on her journey to the Land of the Sweets, meeting colorful characters from the captivating Sugar Plum Fairy to Mother Ginger's mischievous Bon Bon children.

This iconic classical ballet enthralls audiences of all ages, featuring local dance students, professional ballet performers, small business owners and educators, community cultural groups and a special Hokie surprise!

NEW this year: The traditional tale will be told with audience participation in a special pre-show presentation of Story Time with Joelle!

All regional public, homeschool, preschool, and private school students are invited to attend, as well as daycare and senior groups.

Our suggested donation is $4.00 to alleviate production expenses. However, no patron will be excluded on the basis of payment.

Educators will be provided resources and links for SOL-alignment
at all grade levels.
