Hank Woji (Band)

Biography:

For over 15 years, as a bassist, band leader and later a percussionist, Hank was a driving force in some of the Jersey Shore’s most dynamic and innovative bands, opening for or performing with, such diverse artists as: Jimmy Cliff, Hot Tuna, The Smithereens, The Wailers, Toots & the Maytals, The Radiators, The Drifters, Jon Bon Jovi, Room Full of Blues, Johnny Winter, Clarence Clemons, Johnny Johnson, John Hammond Jr., The Nighthawks and Bruce Springsteen.

In the Spring of 2001 Hank moved from New York City to Houston, TX and began to focus primarily on songwriting. Critics have described Hank’s music as being “...in the best tradition of the Texas troubadours like Guy Clarke, Townes Van Zandt and Butch Hancock.”

As a performing Singer/Songwriter, Hank has shared the stage or performed with such notable songwriters as: Jonathan Byrd, David Massengill, Amy Speace, Shake Russell, Ronnie Elliott, Dana Cooper, Butch Hancock, Kinky Friedman and Pete Seeger.

He currently resides in Terlingua, TX and tours nationally, performing at coffeehouses, theaters, clubs, festivals and house concerts throughout the US.
