Bluegrass, old-time, and folk music lovers alike can’t get enough of 2025 IBMA Momentum Band of the Year Nominee, the Burnett Sisters Band, as siblings Anissa, Sophia, and Anneli from Boone, NC along with Geary Allen from Minster, England are all gifted multi-instrumentalists who are well-loved in the traditional music circuit. For years, each individual member has dominated the fiddler convention and music festival competition circuit.
To assign a genre to the Burnett Sisters Band would be to oversimplify the breadth of their musical influences –– at a typical show, a driving bluegrass standard might be followed by an old-time fiddle tune, a classic Hank Williams song, a recognizable Geary Allen original, or a soaring gospel melody, all topped off with a flatfooting dance number by Anneli.
