Description:
The Floyd Country Store presents Americana Afternoons with Virginia Hollow and Common Thread on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
Music Lineup:
• 12:00 PM: Virginia Hollow
• 1:30 PM: Common Thread
Virginia Hollow is a mixture of Americana, bluegrass, country, indie and rock. A singer-songwriter band that performs songs written by lead singer Carrie Hinkley, along with an occasional handpicked cover or two.
Virginia Hollow is a band and a sound born from the hills, valleys and mountains of Appalachia. Their performances and music take you on a journey fraught with raw emotions and stories of love, trust, betrayal and longing. When all is said and done, the haunting melodies of Carrie Hinkley's soulful voice are hard to shake off and instead keep returning and replaying in one's mind, like an untamed mantra of beauty and tragedy. This is a band whose time has come and needs to be reckoned with.

Common Thread plays an eclectic set list of music that includes old country, bluegrass, Americana, folk, classic rock 'n roll and gospel. Common Thread is pretty low key, with a nice groove.

Join us at the Floyd Country Store every Saturday at noon for Americana Afternoons. Each Saturday enjoy multiple musicians performing live on the stage inside The Floyd Country Store.
The music is varied, but has the common thread of Americana, traditional acoustic music. Some of it is indigenous, including bluegrass, or the music of contemporary singer-songwriters: you might hear the blues, or some of the Celtic or African sounds that underpin our American folk traditions.
Admission is free though a $10.00 donation is suggested.
Saturday lunch at the store is a special event. Pick up one of our homemade soups or sandwiches, or a plate of farm-fresh salad and find a table near the stage.
