The Floyd Center for the Arts presents the four week class "Beginning Stained Glass: Suncatcher" meeting on Saturdays from 1:00-4:00 PM starting on Saturday, October 8, 2022 through Saturday, October 29, 2022.

Beginner Stained Glass introduces participants to the peculiar properties of glass, the three categories of glass and the uses for each. Class members will learn the steps and tools in creating a small glass suncatcher. They will also learn to score and break glass safely and correctly. In creating their project, class members will learn how to plan for their completed project by: creating a cartoon and pattern tracing their patterns onto glass, scoring and breaking the glass, smoothing and foiling the edges, soldering the pieces together and completeing the project for hanging in a window.

Class members will be introduced to each stage of this process as a group, but will progress through class sessions individually.

The class is $120.00 per person.
