Christiansburg Library presents the 2023 Music on the Lawn concert series with Root 2 Music on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
Join us for the first show in our 2023 Music on the Lawn concert series!
ROOT2 MUSIC is the musical intersection of Deep South country blues and Celtic/Appalachian fiddle music. David Frank (guitar, harmonica, vocals) and Nancy Reid (fiddle, vocals) perform traditional and original blues with a distinctive Appalachian flavor.
When David moved up to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia where the sounds of Nancy's fiddle had echoed for years, this duo formed a musical partnership that blends down home slide and traditional fiddle. Nancy has studied with Celtic fiddlers Ben Lennon and Liz Carroll. David early on started playing slide guitar because the strings were too hard to mash down on his old Kay guitar with the warped neck. What results is a unique blend of two musical roots – Root2 Music.

Christiansburg Library and the Friends of the Library are happy to announce the return of Music on the Lawn, our annual free concert series. Each month, one talented local band will play a concert on our lawn after hours.
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for an evening under the stars. Feel free to bring a picnic as well!
This concert is rain or shine. In case of rain, the concert will be moved inside.
Christiansburg Library is located at 125 Sheltman Street in Christiansburg, VA.
