The Blacksburg Newcomers of the New River Valley presents their May Meeting on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Blacksburg, VA.
Event Schedule:
• 9:00 PM: Social Time with Refreshments
• 9:30 PM: Welcome/announcements
• 9:40 PM: Community Outreach: Karen B. Nelson with Warm Hearth Foundation
• 9:55 PM: Featured Speaker: Rudi Woykowski, Owner of Appalachian Wildlife Management
Join us for our next general meeting (and the last before September) starting with social time and refreshments.
Our Community Outreach speaker this month is Karen B. Nelson, Associate Director of Development at Warm Hearth Foundation. She will speak about the Micah's Personal Care program and the needs of participating seniors.
Our featured speaker will be Rudi Woykowski, owner of Appalachian Wildlife Management. He will speak to us about how we can help the wildlife in our area, and how he rescues injured wildlife - turtles, owls, birds of prey, and many more. This will be a very interesting program!
All residents of the New River Valley are welcome and there is no fee charged.
Luther Memorial Lutheran Church is located at 600 Prices Fork Road in Blacksburg, VA.
