The New River Valley Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association presents the event "NRV Hokies: Valley Hokies Helping the Valley" on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Christiansburg Presbyterian Church.
Join us at the inaugural Valley Hokies Helping the Valley (VHHV) as we celebrate and support the communities within the New River Valley.
VHHV is a drive-up, drop-off, charitable collection event that works with specific organizations within our area to curate a list of some of their most needed items. Feel free to bring items for one organization or all of them. No need to sort or organize, just load up your boxes or bags and bring them by.
We will be supporting the charitable work of 209 Marketplace, Literacy Volunteers of the NRV, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, and Christiansburg Presbyterian.
Our co-hosts and primary charitable partner, 209 is a donation-based, emergency, local food pantry that provides food, toiletries, and school supplies free to Virginia Tech students in need.

Christiansburg Presbyterian Church has a foundational ministry of feeding people in our community. They currently serve meals to those in need through the “Room at the Table” ministry on Tuesday afternoons and are a co-sponsor of the “For Your Table” community food pantry.

Literacy Volunteers of the New River Valley is based in Christiansburg, the mission of LVNRV is to foster, support, advocate for, and instruct adults in the New River Valley who seek opportunities to achieve greater independence through literacy.

All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads.
That’s where Sleep in Heavenly Peace comes in. SHP is a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need.
