Description:
Hip Hop Studies at Virginia Tech (VTDITC) presents the Sankofa Tape Listening Party on Sunday, April 16, 2023 inside the Black Cultural Center located within the Squires Student Center on the campus of Virginia Tech.
Pull up to hear some culture! The whole VTDITC crew put our all into making this mixtape with the theme of Afrofuturism. The main sentiment we chose was Sankofa: looking back to move to move forward.
Catering provided by the Black Cultural Center at Virginia Tech. Dinner is free to all.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
Be sure to come through to the Black Cultural Center during Virginia Tech’s Black Alumni Weekend for some good music and free food!
Digging in the Crates: Hip Hop Studies at Virginia Tech, or #VTDITC, exists to foster a sense of community among hip hop artists, fans, and scholars on campus. We hope to model that students’ personal interests are worthy of academic study and further institutionalize Hip Hop Studies’ presence on Virginia Tech’s campus. The organization was founded in 2016.
