Radford Public Library presents a Radford Reads event with Author Sue Fliess on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
Join us at Radford Public Library to meet author Sue Fliess in person! She’ll read from her books about insects.
Sue Fliess is the author of dozens of children's books including the Beatrice Bly's Rules for Spies series, Sadie Sprocket Builds a Rocket, Goldilocks and the Three Engineers, the Kid Scientist series, many Little Golden Books and more. Her background is in copywriting, PR, and marketing, and her essays have appeared in O the Oprah Magazine, Huffington Post, Writer's Digest, and more. She's also written stories for The Walt Disney Company.
Her picture books have been featured on Reading Rainbow Live, received honors from the Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators, have been used as curriculum tools in schools, in museum educational programs, have been named to many 'Best Books' lists and have been translated into multiple languages. Two of her books have been chosen for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library!
After spending 17 years in Northern California, she and her family moved to Northern Virginia, where they live with their English Labradors Charlie and Truman, and way too many mosquitoes.

Forty copies of The Bug Book will be given away free to library patrons in advance of her visit.
Admission is free.
Blacksburg Books will be present to sell copies of her upcoming book Cicada Symphony during her visit.
