Historic Smithfield presents their annual Easter Egg Hunt & Springtime Party on Saturday, April 8, 2023.

Celebrate Easter and springtime with the return of our annual Easter Egg Hunt and event with 3,000 eggs! Bring your Easter basket to hunt for eggs on the front lawn and enjoy the activities we will have all over the site. Visit with our event's special guest, The Easter Bunny! And, have your portrait taken by Whitescarver Photography for a unique keepsake of your time onsite. Additionally, enjoy a house tour with our knowledgeable interpreters.

There will be two age groups, ages 1-3 and 4 & up with Egg Hunts at 1:00 PM and 2:15 PM.

Stick around to enjoy yummy treats from Sam’s Hotdog Stand and Charlee Tropical Treats, attend a Storytime with Joelle, and interact with Sky High Entertainment, who will be offering balloon twisting, magic, games and stilt walking!

Learn from the Fincastle Company, who is a group of dedicated living historians who portray both military and civilian roles during the time of the American War of Independence. They conduct extensive research and documentation on all the clothing and equipment used by them in order to be as accurate to the period as possible. The group performs living history displays at various historical sites in the mid-Atlantic region. They specifically portray the Fincastle/Montgomery County Militia which was an actual unit from Southwestern Virginia that served in the American Revolution.

• Washable chalk drawing at the Pavilion
• Facebook Easter photo contest
• Easter themed activities

Tickets can be purchased at the gate the day of the event. The cost is $5.00 per person and children ages 3 & under are free.
