The Center for International Research, Education, and Development at Virginia Tech presents the Peace Corps Week Informational Session on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Blacksburg Library.
Peace Corps Week is an annual celebration and outreach opportunity for the Peace Corps. The week commemorates March 1, 1961, the anniversary of the international humanitarian organization’s founding and its international impact over the last six decades.
Virginia Tech's newly appointed Peace Corps recruiter, Amanda Gurley, is inviting all Hokies and local community members to join her in the celebrations. She will be sharing the insights and impressions she brought home after serving with the Peace Corps in Mongolia from 2015 to 2018. The event will also function as a general information session for those interested in learning more about opportunities to serve in the Peace Corps.
The free event is open to all students, faculty, and staff, as well as the general public.
This informal and informational session will be Virginia Tech’s first Peace Corps Week event since before the pandemic began.
