Public Radio WVRU presents The Thomas Jefferson Hour Live on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 inside the Davis Performance Hall located within the Covington Center on the campus of Radford University.
Public Radio WVRU welcomes humanities scholar Clay Jenkinson to present a live performance of The Thomas Jefferson Hour on stage. The Thomas Jefferson Hour is a weekly radio program dedicated to the search for truth in the tradition of Thomas Jefferson. The mission is to generate one-on-one discourse between friends and family members, then to help broaden it to national discourse (replace the 30 second two position only sound bites) about important, and many times sensitive, topics to our country and to our citizens. We do this in a unique and entertaining way—through the voice of the third president Thomas Jefferson.
Thomas Jefferson is perhaps this country’s best example of a citizen leader, and Clay Jenkinson masterfully portrays not only the persona of Jefferson, but his ideals, values and intellect. Jenkinson’s passion about Jefferson is reflected in two of his books; "Jefferson’s America" and "Becoming Jefferson’s People: Re-inventing the American Republic in the Twenty-first Century".
