Literacy Volunteers of the New River Valley presents their 2023 Scrabble Tournament for Literacy on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Sinkland Farms in Riner, VA.

Join us for a fun evening of word play! The Scrabble Tournament features exciting play and great fun, as well as delicious hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available.

Play is team-based, with three persons per team and all levels of Scrabble players are encouraged to join us!

The cost is $100.00 per team and individuals may register for $35.00 and will be placed with a team.

Doors open at 5:30 PM and play begins at 6:15 PM.

The Literacy Volunteers of the New River Valley connects community members who want to strengthen their literacy skills with trained, volunteer tutors. We provide tutoring in both basic literacy (reading and writing) and English as a second language (conversational and basic English skills) to adults in the New River Valley.

We also promote public awareness, cooperative partnerships, information sharing and referrals between literacy programs and communities.
