Science on Tap - New River Valley presents their February Science on Tap program with the topic "Health Care Research in Harm Reduction" on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Rising Silo Farm Brewery.

Frankie Edwards, a Translational Biology, Medicine, and Health Ph.D. candidate at Virginia Tech, will discuss his research rooted in public health strategies targeted towards Narcan® use and harm reduction behaviors. As we enter this new year, audience members will have the chance to engage with a behavior specification framework activity relevant to anyone ready to change a behavior.

There will also be mock medical emergency overdose and overdose antidote use demonstrations to add to everyone's knowledge toolbox as well.

Admission is free and all are welcome.

Science on Tap - New River Valley is a monthly event with science-inspired speakers, performers, and discussions. We support bringing science to our community and our community’s support to local research.

We kick off the event with games, comedy, or other fun things. Then, an invited guest researcher demos their research. And then we'll discuss, ask questions, learn together and mingle.
