• 7:30 PM: Film starts

Join us to get hyped for winter with Teton Gravity Research's new feature-length ski and snowboard film, "Magic Hour", premiering on the big screen! This is the only scheduled showing in the region.

"Magic Hour" is not so much a particular time of day as a culmination of powerful moments in some of the most beautiful, wild places on the planet. For 27 years, Teton Gravity Research has been searching for the right place with the right crew at the perfect time to experience life at its fullest.

Between the thrill of the hunt and the peace of floating down a mountain, the sum of our experiences becoming greater than its parts is what we seek. If you ask us, our annual snow film Magic Hour is just that.

Shot on location in Jackson Hole, Alaska, British Columbia and Montana.

Admission is $8.00 for Up on the Roof members and $9.00 for the general public.

Doors open at 6:30 PM for a social hour and gear swap. We'll have free tables set up so bring your old ski and snowboard gear to sell or trade. Winterplace Ski Resort will be at the show with a booth and giveaways including lift tickets. We'll also have some giveaways. The film starts at 7:30 PM.

Up on the Roof is a social event for creative professionals and grad students produced by Downtown Events Inc. The event was designed to bring fun locals, grad students and professionals together for the purposes of socializing and enjoying our downtown venues. We meet on the last Thursday of every month from April through September on the rooftop of the Kent Square parking lot in downtown Blacksburg, VA from 5:30-8:00 pm.

Downtown Events Inc. is first and foremost a social organization with a mission to connect newcomers, locals and creative professionals in Blacksburg.
