Historic Smithfield presents a History of Bluegrass Music Lecture and Demonstration on Sunday, August 7, 2022.
Participants will learn about the history of music in the Appalachian region, hear demonstrations of various instruments (banjo, guitar, dulcimer, autoharp, cello) and see how stylistic techniques evolved and changed over time. Led by Steward Scales, instructor for Virginia Tech's Geography of Appalachia course.
The cost is $15.00 for Town of Blacksburg residents or $20.00 for non-residents.
