The Floyd Country Store presents the Friday Night Jamboree outside with Mac Traynham & Friends on Friday, September 17, 2021.

Mac and his musical partner / wife Jenny were inspired by the original Carter Family and by the many brother duets who recorded commercially in the 1930’s, to master a regional style of old-time country duet singing. Over the years they’ve remained active locally performing for benefits, revivals, music camps and festivals.

Mac is also a master banjo maker where he operates his shop at his farm in Floyd County.

The Friday Night Jamboree has moved back outside due to COVID.

The Friday Night Jamboree happens every Friday, rain or shine, all year round at the Floyd Country Store. The first hour is gospel music and this is followed by two dance bands. The dance bands provide the right beat for our enthusiastic crowd of flat foot dancers and cloggers.

Admission is free with a suggested donation of $8.00 in support of the musicians.

Additionally, if you can’t join us live, check out the livestream on Facebook and Youtube. The livestream is free with donations accepted to support the musicians.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. No dogs allowed or alcohol allowed.

The Jamboree operates on “Granny’s Rules” – no smoking, no drinking alcohol, no bad language, and no conduct unbecoming to a lady or a gentleman. It’s a great time for the whole family, and you’re likely to see kids from six to ninety-six out on our hardwood dance floor. You may even be one of them.
