The Blacksburg Newcomers Club presents their September Meeting on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Blacksburg, VA.

September's guest speaker will be Kim Gittings, RN,BSN, CCM, Director for Standardied Patient program, VCOM medical school. Gittings will speak about the mission of the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM). She will focus on how they prepare globally-minded, community-focsed physicians to meet the needs of rural and medically underserved populations and promote research to improve human health. She will also speak on the role of The Standardized Patient program.

All meetings are free and open to the public.

Blacksburg Newcomers Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 9:00 AM.

Since the 1960s, people who have made Blacksburg and the New River Valley their home have found the transition made easier by joining the Blacksburg Newcomers’ Club. Our organization is open to all residents of the New River Valley, whether you are new to the area or not.

Making new friends, becoming part of the community and providing community service in the NRV is what we are all about. Please be our guest at our monthly meeting to learn more about this great organization.
