Virginia Center for Civil War Studies presents "Empire on the Run" Civil War Lecture on Friday, February 22, 2019 in the 1st Floor Multipurpose Room located within the Newman Library on the campus of Virginia Tech.
Please join the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies for a free lecture by Utah State University historian Angela Diaz titled “Empire on the Run: Refugees, Confederate Exiles, and the Gulf South at the End of the Civil War.” Diaz specializes in the relationship between Mexico and the Gulf South of the United States in the mid-nineteenth century.
The Multipurpose Room is located on the first floor behind EspressOasis Café in the Newman Library at Virginia Tech.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
