Giles County presents The Muddy ACCE Race on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Glen Lyn Town Park.

Muddy ACCE Race is a 5K, 25+ obstacle course mud run including floating bridges, buried tunnels, rope swings, and mud pits, designed to drag you out of your comfort zone by testing your physical strength, stamina, and mental grit. It’s not about how fast you can cross the finish line, but if you can get it done. A challenge that emphasizes teamwork, camaraderie, and accomplishing something almost as tough as you are.

Participants will run in heats through the course to test themselves and each other. Participants can run individually or as a team.

The Muddy ACCE Race is for participants ages 13 and up. For the kiddos, 12 and under, we have the Youth Mud Pit and play area.

Paramedics and emergency personnel will be on hand. Water and showers will be available.

Food trucks and vendors will also be on hand for those looking for a bite to eat.

Additionally, participants and spectators this year can enjoy a short tubing trip along the New River Water Trail before or after their run. Enjoy this new addition to the Muddy ACCE Race for only $10.00, all-day pass. Sign up the day of, while you are at the event. Look out for the check in area to be shuttled up to the top of the Glen Lyn Park. Riders will enjoy a short trip down the New River and take out at the Glen Lyn boat landing. Changing stations are available.

The proceeds from this event support the Access to Community College Education (ACCE) Program in Giles County, a County and New River Community College partnership. ACCE is a public / private partnership that makes college available tuition-free to over a third of graduating seniors from Giles County schools by covering the cost of tuition for two years at New River Community College.

Glen Lyn Town Park is located at 200 Campground Drive in Glen Lyn, VA off of Route 460 in Giles County, VA.
