The Christiansburg High School Blue Demon Drama Department presents the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" on Thursday, April 6, 2017 through Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Christiansburg High School Auditorium.

William Shakespeare's most popular comedy is brought to life by the Christiansburg High School Blue Demon Drama Department. It is the eve of Duke Theseus's wedding to the fair Hippolyta, and love is in the air!

Young Lysander loves Hermia. Hermia loves Lysander. Demetrius loves Hermia. Helena loves Demetrius, but alas, he doesn't return the feeling. The love-struck quartet is lost in the woods on a midsummer’s eve and at the mercy of a band of mischievous fairies armed with a potent love potion. Throw a scorned fairy queen, a vengeful fairy king, a donkey’s head, and a troupe of enthusiastically inept actors into the fray, and before you know it you’ll be howling “Lord, what fools these mortals be!”

Special features of the show include original music compositions, original choreography, custom-designed costume pieces, all from CHS students. In addition, audience members will be treated to a wedding reception at the end of the show, complete with wedding cake prepared by the CHS Culinary Arts department.

Admission is $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students and seniors.
