Gillie's welcomes Lunar Carnival to the stage on Wednesday, December 18, 2013.

Imagine yourself dancing with friends under the moon. There is a band and celebration is in the air. The moon is listening, while the band plays through the night...and we'll always remember, tonight.

Lunar Carnival is led by three free-spirited and versatile musicians. The dual female songwriting combo of Maia Archote and Katerina Korolov play together like yin and yang, while bassist Daniel Grip provides a solid foundation. The vocals are often decorated with soaring three-part harmonies among a whirlwind of guitar, banjo, mandolin, and other musical sounds.

Their overall style is an eclectic blend of their various musical backgrounds. There are prominent stylistic elements of folk, bluegrass, rock, jazz, and funk, among many others found in their sound, which makes it hard to categorize the band into a certain genre. For now, let's just say they are an original-sounding Bohemian-folk-trio playing music from the heart, for those who want to feel.
