The Radford University Museum of Earth Science welcomes South American Gold and Diamond prospector Ed Blackford for a special lecture titled "Searching for El Dorado" on Tuesday, December 3rd in the Bonnie Hurlburt Hall Auditorium.

Ed Blackford is the operations manager of Dream Hole Mining Company who is prospecting for gold and diamonds in Guyana on the northern coast of South America.

Blackford, a retired U.S. Army officer, will talk about his second career as a prospector and his company's efforts to develop its claims and search for “free” gold which is found in the area's sandstone material by alluvial or placer mining.

Admission is free and the general public is invited.

"Searching for El Dorado" is the final lecture in the Fall 2013 edition of the RU Museum of the Earth Sciences lecture series.
