Description:
The Price House Nature Center presents a special program entitled “I eat dead leaf sandwiches” on Saturday, November 23rd.
They’re delicious to me all covered in slime, fungi and bacteria. I know I'm safe from hungry birds because they see my bright yellow and red colors. If they try, I’ll squirt them in the face with a blast of toxic juice.
Dr. Paul Marek, Dept. of Entomology at Virginia Tech will bring some local millipedes to show including a 662-legged millipede, a sausage millipede, and pink millipedes. He will also share millipede videos.
Volunteer staff will be on hand to help foster love and curiosity and help with closer observation of our animals and plants, both inside and outside on the Price House grounds.
Limited parking is available in the Nature Center Driveway, on Wharton Street, and within two short blocks on Clay Street at spout spring parking strip and along Church Street in the public parking lot.
Admission is free, donations are welcome.
